Airstrip
Teraina has an airstrip on its north northwest coast. The coral gravel runway was commissioned by Dr. Martin J. Vitousek for his meteorological data collection station on the island. By my measurements I estimate it to be about 850 meters long and perhaps 50 meters wide. Most sources say Teraina's International Air Transport Association (IATA) code is "TNQ". The current status of this airstrip is unknown, but is thought to be largely unused.
